According to a presidential decree signed on June 2, theaters and concert organizers in Uzbekistan will receive subsidies from the state budget.
Starting July 1, 2026, in Karakalpakstan and regions (excluding Nukus and regional centers), if a concert event sells more than 1,000 tickets, organizers will receive a subsidy equal to 20% of the value of tickets sold.
State and private theaters will receive an additional 10,000 soums for each ticket sold for a performance staged locally, and 20,000 soums for performances shown in other regions.
From September 1, 2026, certain expenses of private theaters and theater studios will be covered by the state budget. An additional 10 billion soums will be allocated for these purposes.
State cultural facilities will be provided to private theaters free of charge during idle hours for performances. If there are two or more applicants, a competition will be held.
Starting October 1, 2026, annually 500,000 teachers, doctors, civil servants, active students, one child from 100,000 families in the Social Registry, and children with disabilities will receive free vouchers for theater, cinema, and concert events.
From July 1, 2026, based on recommendations from creative unions, creative expenses will be covered from the state budget.
From September 1, 2026, in state-funded theaters and concert institutions, salary coefficients for dance group leaders, choreographers, tutors, and ballet dancers will be doubled at the expense of the state budget.
For early retirement of dancers, if at least 15 of the required 20 years of service are in dance, the remaining 5 years can include work as a choreographer or ballet tutor.
To support young artists with disabilities, inclusive creative workshops will be established in regions from September 1, 2026. The State Social Protection Fund will allocate 30 billion soums annually for this purpose.
