Yandex Uzbekistan has adapted its onboarding and training processes for the Yandex Lavka project, creating employment opportunities for warehouse workers with hearing impairments. The company's press service announced this development.

Workers at darkstores will be responsible for picking and packing orders, receiving and stocking goods, monitoring inventory, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.

The initiative is carried out in partnership with the Tashkent-based public association 'Sharoit Plus', which assists in candidate selection, interview preparation, and adaptation support. The organization also provides Uzbek sign language interpreters and conducts training for Yandex Lavka teams on communicating with deaf and hard-of-hearing employees.

Training materials have been supplemented with subtitles, and guidelines for interacting with hearing-impaired colleagues have been prepared for darkstore teams. Eligible applicants are men and women over 18 who are ready to work full-time and can read written instructions.

Mansurbek Olloyorov, advisor to the president on social protection, emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to developing an inclusive environment and praised the involvement of 'Sharoit Plus'.

Previously, Yandex Uzbekistan introduced features for blind users across nine services, including Yandex Go, Alice AI, Mail, Browser, Music, and Books. The company is also developing a social taxi project with the National Social Protection Agency, with nearly 700 deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers partnering with Yandex Go.
