President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is on a two-day working visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 4-5, where he is scheduled to hold talks with Russian leadership and attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Uzbekistan's first nuclear power plant.

Upon arrival at Pulkovo International Airport, Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov, and other officials.

Today, June 4, the Uzbek leader will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening strategic partnership and alliance relations, as well as expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in priority areas.

Mirziyoyev will also participate in the ceremony marking the start of construction of the first reactor of an integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.

On June 5, the president will take part in the main events of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where key issues of international economic cooperation, investment, and sustainable development are on the agenda.
