Uzbekistan has abolished a regulation that limited the issuance of conformity certificates to only one vehicle per calendar year for individuals and legal entities importing vehicles. This was established by a presidential decree on “Measures to introduce results-based management in the construction sector and simplify public services in the field,” the Customs Committee reported.
The decree amends the “General Technical Regulation on the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles Placed into Circulation,” approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 237 of April 25, 2017.
Under the changes, the provision stipulating that a conformity certificate be issued “no more than once per calendar year” has been removed from the regulation.
The decree also exempts from customs duties, until July 1, 2029, the import of special equipment used in construction work, as well as laboratory and instrumental diagnostic equipment not produced in Uzbekistan. The Cabinet of Ministers must approve the list of equipment eligible for this benefit within one month.
