An investigation has been launched into the conduct of Nurbek Turdiyev, the first deputy mayor of Qarshi, following the release of a video recording in which he is allegedly seen speaking rudely to employees and demanding they work on weekends. The city administration confirmed the probe after the video went viral on social media.
The State Labor Inspectorate has also been involved in the investigation, according to the Qarshi mayor's office. Officials promised a legal assessment of the deputy's actions once the inquiry is complete.
This incident follows a similar case in Tashkent, where a deputy head of the Almazar district police department was fired after an audio recording surfaced in which he instructed subordinates to artificially inflate statistics on vagrancy arrests.
