A criminal investigation has been launched in Tashkent into a real estate fraud case involving the sale of a residential house. According to investigators, two brothers sold the property, received a large sum of money, then disappeared and later completed a second sale to another buyer.

After inspecting the house, the parties engaged in lengthy negotiations. Initially, the sellers valued the property at $1 million, but the buyer managed to negotiate the price down to $900,000.

To confirm the deal, the buyer paid an advance of $363,000. He planned to pay the remaining amount after officially registering the ownership through authorized bodies.

However, after receiving the large sum, the sellers stopped answering calls. Realizing he had been deceived, the buyer filed a complaint with law enforcement.

The investigation revealed that despite receiving the advance, the fraudsters sold the same house to another person, thus completing a double transaction.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 168 (Fraud). Two brothers, aged 40 and 39, are named as suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that when buying real estate, vehicles, or other expensive property, strict adherence to legal procedures is necessary — transactions should be formalized through official channels, and full payment should only be made after documents are completely transferred.

Earlier, authorities in Tashkent shut down an organized criminal group that sold rented apartments using forged documents. The suspects were caught red-handed while finalizing a deal worth over $100,000.
