Uzbekistan has expanded the possibilities of using cashback. Users of the updated version of the Soliq mobile app can now direct accumulated funds towards greening and tree planting.
The new option became available thanks to a decree by the President of Uzbekistan. The initiative was implemented in cooperation between the Tax Committee and the Ecology Committee, and the functionality has been active since June of this year.
The cashback is received by citizens when scanning QR codes on receipts for purchases and services. Now these funds can not only be withdrawn to a bank card but also used for environmental purposes.
To direct money towards greening, users need to select the "Tree and Seedling Planting Fund" in the "Cashback transfers to card" section of the app.
The Tax Committee emphasizes that participation in the initiative is entirely voluntary — the user decides how to use the accumulated funds.
Recall that from July 1, a state system for rewarding consumers for requesting cash receipts will be launched in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. Citizens who register receipts from online cash registers in the Soliq app will automatically become participants in monthly drawings, with a car as the main prize.
