Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan increased by 15% in 2025, reaching 6.5 billion cubic meters, according to Gazprom's annual report. In 2024, the volume stood at 5.64 billion cubic meters, rising to 6.48 billion in 2025.
The report notes that gas deliveries via Kazakhstan through the Central Asia-Center pipeline in reverse mode increased, and in the fourth quarter of 2025, volumes reached maximum technical capacity.
Earlier, Gazprom reported that in 2025, Russian gas supplies to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan grew by 22.2%, and to Georgia by 40.4%.
In June 2023, Uzbekistan signed a gas purchase agreement with Gazprom, with deliveries starting in October of that year.
In October 2025, the Russian government confirmed the implementation of a contract for the supply of 7.7 billion cubic meters of gas per year, noting prospects for further increases.
In June 2024, Gazprom signed agreements for gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan and for the transit of Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan until 2040.
In February 2024, the government of Uzbekistan announced plans to modernize the country's main gas system to increase gas imports from Russia by 3.5 times — from 9 million to 32 million cubic meters per day.
