TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Family remains one of the main values for residents of Uzbekistan, but it is increasingly facing the influence of the internet, financial difficulties, and conflicts. These conclusions were reached by experts from the Republican Center for Public Opinion Research 'Ijtimoiy fikr'.

The majority of survey participants consider family a place of support, mutual understanding, and child upbringing. Moreover, over 60% of respondents noted that the position of the family in society has improved over the past five years.

Residents named trust between spouses as the main condition for a strong family. This option was chosen by 68.2% of participants. Mutual respect and tolerance, support, joint child upbringing, love, and financial stability are also considered important.

Among the main family problems, the influence of phones, the internet, and social networks is most often cited. This was pointed out by 45% of respondents. Another over 40% speak of financial difficulties, almost a third mention conflicts between spouses, and the remaining 21.3% cite interference from relatives.

Separately, survey participants expressed their views on prenuptial agreements. The majority – about 65% – consider it a reasonable step. At the same time, only 15% believe that such an agreement could undermine trust between spouses.

According to sociologists, the future of the family in Uzbekistan will depend on how successfully traditional values and new approaches can be combined. Young people more often speak about such a balance.
