A fatal road accident involving a passenger car and a truck occurred in the Fergana region. According to preliminary data, an 18-year-old female driver of a Lacetti-2, while overtaking, drove into the oncoming lane, resulting in two deaths.

According to the press service of the Fergana Regional Traffic Safety Department, the fatal accident happened on June 14 at about 1:30 PM in the Uzbekistan district of the Fergana region. The accident occurred on the 21st kilometer of the "Kokand — Yaipan — Isfara" highway, passing through the "A. Jomi" mahalla on Navoi Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that an 18-year-old girl was driving the Lacetti-2. While attempting to overtake, she drove into the oncoming lane. At that moment, a collision occurred with a FAW Tiger driven by a 53-year-old man who was traveling in his lane.

The impact proved fatal. The driver of the Lacetti-2 and a 19-year-old passenger died in the hospital from their injuries.

A pre-investigation check is currently underway. The circumstances of the tragedy are being clarified.

Earlier, an accident in the Chust district of Namangan region claimed the lives of three people. The driver of a Cobalt fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the oncoming lane, colliding with an Isuzu bus.
