A tragic road accident in Tashkent early on June 16 claimed three lives. The collision occurred around 3:10 AM on the Tashkent Ring Road in the Uchtepa district.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 24-year-old driver of a Lacetti was making a sharp left turn at an intersection when a BYD car traveling at high speed from the opposite direction crashed into him.

The BYD was driven by a 16-year-old teenager without a driver's license. The impact sent the car into a public transport stop. Footage from the scene circulated online earlier.

The Lacetti driver and his two passengers, aged 27 and 22, died at the scene. A criminal case has been opened. Investigators are looking into all circumstances, including the reason for crossing into oncoming traffic and the fact that a minor was driving.

This incident follows a recent case where a ninth-grader driving his father's car without license plates crashed into the back of a passenger bus in Tashkent.
