A court in Tashkent has issued a ruling against citizen Sh.M., accused of sexual harassment, according to a correspondent for UzNews.uz, citing the court decision.
According to case materials, upon arrival at the destination, the taxi driver touched the chest of a female passenger who had fallen asleep during the ride.
In court, Sh.M. did not admit guilt, claiming that the passenger Sh.Kh. was intoxicated and fell asleep. He asserted that he was trying to wake her up and help her out of the car without committing any immoral acts.
After examining the circumstances, the court found Sh.M. guilty under Article 41-1 of the Administrative Code of Uzbekistan (Sexual Harassment) and sentenced him to 5 days of administrative arrest.
