The press service of the Kashkadarya regional administration reported that Ro'ziboy Sattorov, the oldest participant of World War II in Uzbekistan, has died at the age of 116.

Sattorov was from the Kamashi district of Kashkadarya region. He served as a rifleman on the Stalingrad front. He went to the war front in 1941 and returned safely in 1945.

On the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Honor in 2025, regional governor Murodjon Azimov visited the veteran's home as he turned 115, read out the head of state's congratulations, and presented a cash award.

During the meeting, Sattorov mentioned his long-standing unfulfilled dream of flying on an airplane. Subsequently, on the president's instruction, he took a flight on an aircraft of the Ministry of Defense's Air Force.

As of May 6, a total of 60 war participants and equivalent veterans lived in the republic, with the highest number in Tashkent city.
