Uzbekistan's imports totaled $16.4 billion in the first four months of 2026, driven by strong growth in machinery, food products, and chemicals.
According to the National Statistics Committee, machinery and transport equipment accounted for the largest share at $5.5 billion, up 29.1% year-on-year.
Industrial goods imports reached $2.5 billion (up 17.1%), while chemicals and related materials totaled $2 billion, a 22.6% increase.
The fastest-growing category was food and live animals, with imports surging 47.2% to $1.9 billion. Services imports rose 15.5% to $1.6 billion.
Mineral fuels, lubricants, and similar resources imports grew 25.8% to $1.4 billion. Miscellaneous manufactured articles totaled $585.7 million, up 34.6%.
Non-food raw materials imports increased 34.5% to $464.8 million, while animal and vegetable oils, fats, and waxes rose 37.3% to $217.7 million.
Beverages and tobacco remained the smallest category at $100.5 million, but still grew 24.3%. For comparison, first-quarter 2026 imports exceeded $12 billion.
