In the first half of this year, courts in Uzbekistan reviewed 2,018 criminal cases related to violence and harassment against women, according to data from the Supreme Court.

A total of 2,480 individuals were involved in these cases. Convictions were issued in 1,215 cases against 1,624 people.

Among those convicted, 84 were under 18 years old, 597 were between 18 and 30, 893 were between 31 and 60, and 50 were over 60. Of the convicted, 1,165 were unemployed.

The number of women recognized as victims in such criminal cases from January to June reached 2,146. Of these, 581 were minors, 654 were aged 18-30, 870 were aged 31-60, and 41 were over 60.

It should be noted that these figures reflect only the criminal cases processed by courts, not the total number of incidents of violence and harassment against women in the country.
