A 33-year-old man, identified as F.N., has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Khatyrchi District Criminal Court for the brutal murder of his 6-month-old son. The incident occurred on January 9, 2026, in front of relatives.

According to the court verdict, F.N. entered a room to rest and became enraged at his crying son. He stuffed a sock into the infant's mouth, grabbed him by both arms, and shook him, causing the baby's head to hit the wooden part of a sofa. Clinical death ensued.

A forensic medical examination determined that the cause of death was subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebellar hemorrhage, cerebral and pulmonary edema, and acute respiratory failure.

F.N. was found guilty under Article 97, Part 2, paragraphs 'v' and 'zh' of the Criminal Code (premeditated murder with extreme cruelty against a person known to be in a helpless state) and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Earlier, on January 9, Kun.uz reported, citing sources, that the father had beaten the infant and stuffed a sock in his mouth. The mother rushed the child to the hospital, but he died on January 14 at 11:30 a.m. The case was initially opened under Article 104, Part 1 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm).
