President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed participants of the International Congress dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.

The head of state recalled that the First Turkological Congress, held in Baku in 1926, was a milestone in the development of science and cultural life of Turkic peoples. Among its participants were 11 representatives of the Uzbek intelligentsia.

According to Mirziyoyev, it is especially important today to strengthen scientific cooperation between Turkic states. Priority areas include the use of artificial intelligence technologies, digitization of manuscripts, creation of common Turkic electronic dictionaries and language corpora, study of historical sources, support for young researchers, and expansion of academic exchange.

On the occasion of the congress's centenary, the president proposed implementing the international project 'Enlighteners of the Turkic World' with the participation of leading scientific centers of Turkic states, as well as creating a unified digital library that would unite works and archival documents of representatives of the Jadid movement.

In his address, the head of state also emphasized the significant contribution of the Jadids to the development of education, science, and culture, noting that modern Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale work to study their heritage, restore historical justice, and perpetuate the memory of outstanding enlighteners.

According to the president, the current international congress will be an important step for the development of Turkology, implementation of joint scientific projects, and further strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Turkic peoples.
