President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Georgia on July 2-3 at the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the presidential press service announced.

In Tbilisi, the President is scheduled to hold talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The agenda includes issues of further developing Uzbek-Georgian friendship and multifaceted cooperation.

The parties will thoroughly discuss practical aspects of strengthening political dialogue, developing inter-parliamentary and interregional ties, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Special attention will be paid to promoting cooperation projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, tourism, energy, and information technology.

The focus will also be on cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as creating additional opportunities to expand the geography of product exports.

The leaders will also exchange views on topical international and regional issues. Following the summit, a substantial package of bilateral documents covering various areas of cooperation is expected to be signed.
