In Fergana, officers of the State Security Service, together with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and internal affairs bodies, have shut down a criminal group involved in manufacturing and selling counterfeit foreign passports.
During the operation, a resident of Margilan was detained; he had allegedly conspired with four acquaintances from Fergana city.
The suspects were caught red-handed selling a fake Turkish passport and driver's license to a client for 4 million soums.
Eleven mobile phones and two laptops were seized from the suspects as material evidence.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainees, and investigative actions are underway.
