Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered the resolution of electricity supply problems and unpleasant odors from treatment facilities in Tashkent's Sergeli district. The tasks were outlined during a videoconference meeting on the district's development.
The head of state noted that over 50,000 people live in 13 mahallas annexed to Sergeli six years ago, according to his press secretary Sherzod Asadov. Although 629 poles and cables for lighting were installed, the system remains nonfunctional. The president ordered the issue resolved within ten days.
Due to population and business growth, electricity consumption has risen by 40% over five years, with voltage in some mahallas 1.5–2 times below standard. 107 billion soums have been allocated to launch the Shaharoldi, Uzgarish, and Kumarik substations.
By year-end, these mahallas must be connected to the sewage system. The president also ordered the installation of modern filters at treatment facilities by September 1 to eliminate odors affecting residents of Sergeli and Yangihayot districts. Next year, construction of a new station with a capacity of 300,000 cubic meters will begin in Nizhnechirchik district.
On 23 kilometers of Sergeli's main roads, 455 smart traffic lights will be installed, 150 bus stops renovated, and a 10,000-space parking lot created. The construction of a bridge on the ring road linking Sergeli, Bektemir, and Yangihayot with other districts is to be accelerated.
Earlier, Mirziyoyev visited the Sergeli district administration and reviewed its digitalization process. The building houses five organizations providing over 30 types of government services under the 'single window' principle.
