A court in the Andijan region has sentenced a man who killed his wife in a school building and then attempted suicide. A copy of the court ruling is available to Podrobno.uz.

The incident occurred on January 27 in the Asaka district. According to case materials, the man came to school No. 37, where his wife worked, and attacked her with a knife in the school corridor. The woman sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene.

According to the verdict, the conflict was related to family disagreements and a dispute over a house previously registered in the woman's name. After the attack, the man went home, where he inflicted injuries on himself. He was found by his brother and taken to the hospital.

The court found the man guilty under Article 97 of the Criminal Code ("premeditated murder committed with particular cruelty and for mercenary motives"). He will serve his sentence in a general-regime colony.

Recall that the tragedy occurred right in the school corridor: teachers heard screams and called law enforcement to the scene.
