On July 6, five babies were born at Maternity Hospital No. 2 in Andijan city, the Ministry of Health reported.
Nargiza Bekjonova, a resident of the Qayrag‘ochtosh neighborhood, was admitted with a diagnosis of multiple pregnancy. She underwent a cesarean section due to premature labor.
Of the five newborns, three are girls and two are boys. Their birth weights ranged from 1,205 to 1,605 grams.
To provide specialized medical care, the mother and babies were transferred to the Andijan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health.
The quintuplets and their mother are reported to be in good condition.
Notably, last month in Andijan, quadruplets — three boys and one girl — were also born.
