A 33-year-old domestic worker in Tashkent's Mirzo-Ulugbek district has been sentenced to 4 years of restricted freedom for systematically beating and torturing a 91-year-old woman she was hired to care for.

The crimes were uncovered through a hidden camera installed in the home. According to court documents, the defendant, identified as Yu.U., began assaulting the elderly woman in December 2025, striking her on the head, neck, and hands.

The abuse continued until March 19, 2026. On that day, the victim woke early and asked to use the bathroom. Yu.U. struck her again on the head and face. When the victim's grandson entered the room and asked about her condition, she began crying but said nothing.

The family later reviewed footage from hidden cameras and discovered the abuse. The defendant confessed in court, stating she acted out of exhaustion from constant work.

On June 18, 2026, the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court found Yu.U. guilty under Article 110, Part 2, Clause 'v' (Torture) of the Criminal Code and sentenced her to 4 years of restricted freedom.
