According to the director of Uzhydromet, Sherzodkhuzha Khabibullakhuzha, heavy rains are expected in the foothill and mountainous regions of Uzbekistan from July 8 to 13, which could trigger mudflows and flash floods.
The following areas are at risk: Tashkent region (Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk), Namangan region (Pap, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts), Fergana region (Sokh, Shakhimardan, Fergana, Besharyk districts), and Andijan region (Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgan-tepa, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khojaabad, Markhamat districts and the city of Khanabad).
Residents, tourists, and drivers planning trips to these areas are advised to take precautionary measures.
