Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials from Algeria's newly appointed Ambassador Jamila Achour. The minister announced this on his Telegram channel.
During the meeting, the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Algeria and prospects for its further development were discussed. The sides exchanged views on the outcomes of the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Algeria in June 2026 and the implementation of the agreements reached.
Readiness was expressed to intensify bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, educational, cultural, and other promising areas. Saidov wished the ambassador great success in her responsible and honorable mission in Uzbekistan.
Algeria's previous ambassador, Muhammad Irki, served in Uzbekistan from 2024 to May 2026.
