Authorities in Uzbekistan have denied reports of a fire in an apple orchard near Tashkent, stating that the information circulating on social media is inaccurate. Specialists from the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change inspected the area but found no evidence of any fire.

Earlier, videos and eyewitness accounts claimed that on July 8, a fruit-bearing apple orchard near Green University in the "Tutzor" mahalla had caught fire. It was alleged that the flames spread quickly, destroying a significant number of trees. Spontaneous dumps along the orchard were also blamed for fueling the fire.

The committee clarified that the information was published based on a report submitted via a Telegram bot without proper verification. They urged media outlets, bloggers, and social media users to verify data thoroughly and rely only on official sources.

The issue of waste disposal, also complained about by local residents, was not officially commented on. Notably, Tashkent is set to establish a National Dendrological Park spanning 108 hectares, which will become the capital's largest scientific and recreational green area.
