In the second quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan recorded 148,810 cases of exceeding established trade markups on medicines. Violations were found in 237 pharmacies, including 33 wholesale and 204 retail outlets. The unjustified income amounted to 1.9 billion soums.
The data was obtained by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection from the unified information system 'Fair Tech', which automatically receives information from tax authorities. The system allows for price monitoring.
All identified violations led to recalculations in favor of buyers. Measures were also taken to protect the rights of an indefinite circle of consumers.
The Committee stated that inspections in this area will continue. Measures will be taken against pharmacies that violate the law, and lists of violators will be published publicly.
