According to the press service of the head of state, Muzaffar Murotovich Kamilov has been appointed to the position of advisor to the president on religious and educational affairs.
Since March, Kamilov had been serving as head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs of the Presidential Administration. Prior to that, he was deputy advisor to the president on issues of representative bodies, non-governmental non-profit organizations, religion and youth.
Throughout his career, Kamilov has held positions such as rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, advisor to the president on cooperation with public and religious organizations, first deputy chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, and other high-ranking posts. His new appointment is seen as recognition of his expertise in the religious and educational sphere.
