Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan will host the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), one of the world's premier programming competitions for school students. The tournament is scheduled for August 9-16.

IOI is considered the top global contest for young programmers, where tech corporations and leading research centers scout for the most talented students. Representatives from 97 countries have confirmed participation, totaling 386 gifted students – setting a new record.

The Uzbek national team approaches the home Olympiad with a successful track record: at IOI 2025 in Bolivia, Uzbek students won silver and bronze medals.
