A series of appointments and dismissals have been made in Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture and the Cinema Agency under the ministry, according to presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov.

Jahongir Odilkhodjayevich Akhmedov has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Culture and Director of the Cinema Agency. Since May 2025, he had been serving as Director of the Children’s Content Development Center. He replaces Shukhratulla Rizayev.

Sanjar Bakhtiyorovich Bobojonov has been appointed Deputy Minister of Culture, and was accordingly relieved of his post as Chief Inspector of the presidential representative’s office for culture.

In addition, Bakhodir Majitovich Akhmedov and Avazkhan Bakhadirovich Tajikhanov were dismissed as First Deputy Ministers of Culture, while Murodjon Abdullayevich Majidov and Yusufjon Kamoldinovich Usmonov were dismissed as Deputy Ministers of Culture, all due to transfer to other positions.

Separately, Hasan Salikhov has been appointed as the presidential representative for culture. He previously served as Director of the Creative Industry Park.
