Tashkent, Uzbekistan – According to Podrobno.uz, the price of AI-95 gasoline in Uzbekistan remains one of the highest among Central Asian countries, although it is still below the global average. Data from GlobalPetrolPrices shows that a liter of gasoline in the republic costs more than in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, and Azerbaijan.

As of July 6, 2026, the average price of one liter of gasoline in Uzbekistan is 16,153.8 soums, or $1.342. The global average price is around $1.46 per liter, so Uzbekistan's indicator remains below the global average but is significantly higher than in many CIS and Central Asian countries.

Compared to neighboring states, Uzbekistan remains one of the most expensive countries in the region for motor fuel. For comparison, in Turkmenistan, a liter of gasoline costs only $0.43 – one of the lowest rates in the world. In Azerbaijan, it is $0.676; in Kazakhstan, $0.687; in Russia, $0.940; in Kyrgyzstan, $1.016. Fuel is also cheaper in Belarus ($0.942), which is among the countries with the most affordable gasoline in the CIS.

The lowest gasoline prices are recorded in several countries where a liter of fuel costs several times less than the global average. In Iran, the price is about $0.03 per liter, making it the absolute leader in cheap fuel. Venezuela also ranks among countries with minimal prices – about $0.04 per liter.

As a result, drivers in Uzbekistan pay more for fuel than most of their Central Asian neighbors, directly affecting transportation costs and goods prices.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan sent official appeals to Uzbekistan and several other countries to avoid fuel shortages. The republic also plans to increase domestic production of gasoline and other petroleum products.
