On the evening of July 16, a traffic accident involving three service motorcycles occurred at the intersection of Dormon Yoli and Gazalkent streets in Tashkent. The moment of the collision was captured by a dashcam in one of the cars.
The footage shows several law enforcement officers regulating traffic at the intersection. After a van and another car passed at high speed, the officers began to disperse, allowing movement. As the traffic light turned green, one of the cars started moving.
Upon entering the intersection, the car was struck by two motorcycles traveling side by side at high speed, followed by a third. The last motorcycle reportedly caught fire immediately after the crash. The severely damaged car was thrown to the opposite side of the road, damaging two other vehicles.
Traffic was temporarily halted at the scene and resumed after the aftermath was cleared. According to a source in law enforcement, the service motorcycles belonged to the State Traffic Safety Service (STS).
Zoir Yuldoshev, press secretary of the Tashkent City Traffic Safety Department, confirmed that one STS officer driving a patrol motorcycle died at the scene. “The injured are receiving medical assistance,” he said without specifying the exact number of casualties.
A pre-investigation check is underway. Yuldoshev also stated that the accident did not occur during a convoy escort, dismissing this interpretation circulating on social media as false.
