In the first half of 2026, 39,200 complaints from citizens regarding the fuel and energy sector were received. This is 13,800 or 26.1% fewer compared to the same period last year. However, at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 17, it was noted that each complaint indicates lingering problems in the sector.
The head of state emphasized that each complaint should be assessed not as an isolated incident, but as an important signal indicating the existence of problems in a particular region, industry, or service.
50% of complaints were related to natural and liquefied gas supply, and 38.3% to electricity supply. Citizens mainly raised issues about filling liquefied gas cylinders, power outages, construction and repair of electrical networks, and natural gas pressure.
The president instructed that, as part of preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter season, areas and facilities with many repeated complaints should be studied, the technical condition of electrical and gas networks should be checked, and targeted plans should be developed to eliminate specific shortcomings across regions.
The meeting highlighted the importance of repairing networks and transformers in areas with frequent power outages, increasing the readiness of emergency teams, and ensuring stable gas supply in areas with pressure problems.
Strict adherence to schedules for filling and delivering liquefied gas cylinders was deemed necessary, and in areas with high demand, additional reserves and resources should be mobilized.
The president also stressed the need to eliminate systemic problems raised in citizens' complaints before the start of the autumn-winter season, conducting systematic work in close cooperation with local administrations, the 'mahalla seven,' and utility service providers.
