Since the beginning of the week, an abnormal heatwave has gripped the entire country. Abduvoitjon Gafurov, director of the Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care, provided details on how the ambulance service is operating under these conditions and how many calls have been received.

In hot weather, people with chronic cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, diabetes, as well as the elderly, pregnant women, and children are particularly vulnerable. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor their health and provide timely assistance if necessary. During abnormal heat, when chronic illnesses may worsen, the responsibility of ambulance staff increases.

According to the Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care, over the past 4 days of abnormal heat, the '103' service received 166,726 calls across the republic. All calls were processed according to established procedures, and patients received timely emergency medical care.

Notably, despite the heat, the call dynamics remained stable. Thanks to recommendations issued to the public through media and social networks regarding precautions during the heatwave, no significant increase in calls was recorded compared to the previous 4 days (July 9-12).

Experts advise the public to avoid going outside during the hottest hours unless necessary, drink plenty of water, limit fatty, fried, and overly salty foods, and prefer easily digestible meals and vegetable salads.
