The press service of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has announced that citizens will enjoy several additional days off this year to mark the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

Specifically, residents will have four consecutive days of rest: August 29 (Saturday) — a day off (for those on a five-day workweek); August 30 (Sunday) — a day off; August 31 (Monday) — an additional day off; and September 1 (Tuesday) — Independence Day.

September 2 (Wednesday) will be a working day. The schedule applies to employees working a five-day week.

Uzbekistan celebrates its Independence Day annually on September 1. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, prompting the additional days of rest.
