Yayra Abdullayeva was born on August 14, 1930, in the Andijan region. In 1950, she graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Arts and began working at the Hamza Theater. Her film debut was in 1953 in the movie 'The Rich Man and the Servant'.

From 1954 to 1956, she appeared in the films 'The Rakhmonov Sisters' and 'We'll Meet at the Stadium'. In 1960–1965, she starred in 'Hamza' and 'By Order of Conscience'. Between 1978 and 1986, she performed in the TV plays 'Spring Melody', 'Leningraders, My Children', 'Every Deed Has a Flaw', as well as in the films 'Fiery Roads' and 'Diamond Belt'.

Over the years, Yayra Abdullayeva portrayed a wide range of characters in various performances. Her filmography also includes such films as 'Babur', 'Alpomysh', 'Little People', and 'The Alien Groom'. The actress was awarded the 'Dustlik' and 'El-yurt hurmati' orders.

Yayra Abdullayeva passed away on May 14, 2019. Her legacy holds a special place in the history of Uzbek cinema and theater. On the occasion of her birthday, Gazeta has prepared a test based on her films, allowing fans to check their knowledge of the actress's work.
