In Tashkent, more than 580 grams of the synthetic drug "Alpha-PVP" were discovered hidden inside two construction tools that had been mailed from Russia. The State Security Service reported the seizures.
The first incident occurred in the Chilanzar district, where a 34-year-old resident of the Yunusabad district was detained. During an inspection of his rotary hammer, authorities found 478 grams of Alpha-PVP.
In the second case, in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, a 17-year-old teenager was found with an additional 107 grams of the same substance concealed in a chainsaw.
According to the preliminary investigation, in both cases the drugs were sent from Russia to Uzbekistan via postal parcels.
Criminal cases have been opened in connection with both incidents, and investigative actions are ongoing.
Earlier, it was reported that a 24-year-old resident of the Urta-Chirchik district, previously convicted of a crime, was detained at Tashkent International Airport. He allegedly attempted to smuggle prohibited psychotropic substances from Bangkok by hiding them among food products.
