A ceremony took place in Belgrade to award President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with Serbia's highest state honor — the Order of the Republic of Serbia with the Great Chain. The event was reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.
The order was presented to Mirziyoyev by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in recognition of his outstanding contribution to strengthening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
Expressing gratitude for the award, Mirziyoyev stated that he regards it as a symbol of the Serbian people's deep respect for Uzbekistan, growing friendship, and a firm commitment to advancing bilateral ties.
The Order of the Republic of Serbia is conferred upon foreign statesmen and public figures for their contribution to strengthening peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding among nations, as well as for fostering friendly relations with Serbia. It is one of the country's most prestigious decorations.
This event marks a significant milestone in the dynamic development of Uzbek-Serbian relations, which have been actively expanding in political, economic, and cultural dimensions in recent years.
