In the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, a tragedy occurred. A 30-year-old man drowned while paddleboarding on the Pskem River. After more than two weeks of searching, divers found his body today, September 10, at 09:50.
The tragedy happened on August 26. The 30-year-old resident of Kibray district came with friends to the Pskem River to ride SUP boards. During the ride, the man lost control, collided with the rocky bank, and fell into the water. He was not wearing a life jacket, so the strong current quickly pulled him under.
Immediately after the incident was reported, diving teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations began searching. For two weeks, rescuers continued to scan the river. Today, their efforts finally paid off.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations once again urged citizens to follow safety rules on water bodies. Swimming should only be done in designated areas, and when riding small boats and other watercraft, a life jacket must be worn.
Earlier, rescuers found the body of one of three men who drowned in the Charvak reservoir on September 2. The search for the others continues.
