President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law "On the protection of the population from the harmful effects of noise" on September 9. The document establishes permissible noise levels and introduces time restrictions on noise that disturbs the peace and normal rest of citizens.

According to the law, on weekdays it is prohibited to create noise exceeding the permissible level from 23:00 to 07:00. On weekends and non-working holidays, the restriction applies from 22:00 to 09:00. The new norms cover noise from domestic and household activities in residential buildings, as well as from construction work, machinery, and transport.

The permissible noise level is defined by sanitary rules and norms, which do not cause significant disturbance to a person and do not lead to serious changes in the body. Control over compliance with the established requirements is assigned to the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health under the Ministry of Health.

For harm caused by noise exposure, citizens will be able to seek compensation in court. The law will enter into force 3 months after its official publication — from December 11, 2026. These measures aim to ensure tranquility and protect public health.
