Earlier reports indicated that the road collapse on Glinka Street in Tashkent was caused by a flash fire resulting from a gas leak in an underground gas pipeline. The incident raised serious concerns about the safety of the city's infrastructure.

According to the press service of the Tashkent hokimiyat, a special working group was created on the instructions of the city administration to prevent similar incidents. It includes experienced specialists from Veolia Energy Tashkent, Tashkent City Water Supply, the Hududgaz Poytaxt gas supply branch, and district gas supply departments. Necessary special equipment was also involved in the work.

To date, specialists have identified 4 cases of gas leaks in medium-pressure pipelines and 6 in low-pressure pipelines. These figures indicate the deterioration of the city's gas networks and the need for constant monitoring.

"All malfunctions have been eliminated. Repair and restoration work on Glinka Street has been completed, and the road is fully open for vehicle traffic," the statement said. These measures are an important step in ensuring the safety of the capital's residents.

In addition, mobile laboratories of Hududgaztaminot JSC and other responsible organizations are conducting a comprehensive inspection of engineering networks in the areas adjacent to the street to identify possible gas leaks. The inspections are ongoing.
