The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has announced the establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai. The organization aims to strengthen business ties between Dubai and Uzbekistan, develop trade and investment links, and expand cooperation between companies in the two markets.
The council's first meeting was held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce headquarters. Participants discussed new opportunities for business and mutual investment, the development of ties between Uzbek companies and partners in Dubai, the exchange of experience and business information, as well as the holding of joint business events, UzNews.uz correspondent reports.
Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce for Business Advocacy, stated: "The establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council creates an important platform for strengthening trade and investment partnership between Dubai and Uzbekistan. The council will play a key role in creating new opportunities for bilateral cooperation across various sectors, contributing to economic growth and the development of sustainable long-term ties between the business communities of the two markets."
According to the council's chairman, Ulugbekkhon Maksudov, the organization should become a platform for direct business interaction, finding partners, and new investment opportunities: "We are not just creating another business organization – we are forming a practical platform where entrepreneurs can find reliable partners, investors can find new opportunities, and companies from both countries can grow together. We will create stronger business ties between Uzbekistan and the UAE and contribute to the further development of trade, investment, and economic cooperation between our countries."
Uzbek business interest in Dubai is growing. In 2025, non-oil trade between Dubai and Uzbekistan reached 10.3 billion dirhams, and the number of Uzbek companies among Dubai Chamber of Commerce members increased by 21.3% to 826. In the first half of 2026, another 75 companies from Uzbekistan joined the chamber.
According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, more than 450 companies with UAE capital operate in Uzbekistan. Over the past three years, Emirati investors have injected $3 billion into the country's economy. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE reached $1.2 billion by the end of 2025.
