Uzbekistan and South Korea have signed a package of bilateral documents aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries. The exchange ceremony took place in Seoul following talks between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Lee Jae-myung, as reported by the Uzbek National News Agency.

The documents cover trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as several other areas. In particular, agreements were concluded in the fields of transport, aviation, agriculture, and tourism. These are expected to further deepen economic ties between the two nations.

Separate documents provide for cooperation in artificial intelligence, technical assistance, preschool, school, and higher education, regulation of medical products, ecology, and climate change mitigation. This indicates a focus on innovation and sustainable development.

The parties also agreed to interact in the protection of intellectual property and archival affairs. These agreements aim to strengthen cultural and legal ties.

Earlier, an official welcoming ceremony for Shavkat Mirziyoyev was held at the "Chong Wa Dae" presidential residence in Seoul, where he was received by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. After protocol events, the leaders began high-level negotiations. The visit underscores Uzbekistan's active foreign policy and strategic partnership with South Korea.
