The Sergeli District Criminal Court in Tashkent has ruled on the case of 26-year-old T.Z., accused of sexual harassment. According to court materials, the incident occurred on bus No. 47, which operates in the Sergeli district of the capital.

The man allegedly harassed a female passenger, touching various parts of her body. Despite the woman's demands to stop and behave properly, he continued the harassment.

In court, T.Z. pleaded guilty, expressed remorse, and promised that such behavior would not happen again. His confession was taken into account during the proceedings.

The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Administrative Code of Uzbekistan (Sexual Harassment) and sentenced him to 3 days of administrative arrest.

This case highlights the persistent issue of harassment on public transport in Uzbekistan. While the verdict sends a message that such actions have consequences, the lenient sentence raises questions about the effectiveness of penalties and the protection of victims. Activists continue to call for stricter measures and better support for survivors.
