Uzbekistan imported 65,876 passenger cars from 29 countries in January–July 2026, with a total value of $920.4 million. The data was released by the National Statistics Committee.

Electric vehicles accounted for the bulk of imports — 46,749 units. Gasoline-powered cars totaled 10,987 units, hybrids reached 8,077 units, and other types of passenger cars amounted to just 63 units. These figures highlight a sharp rise in demand for electric vehicles across the country.

China became the main supplier, shipping 63,039 cars during the period — nearly 96% of total imports. Other leading suppliers included the United States with 765 units, South Korea with 737 units, and Japan with 345 units. The remaining countries supplied 990 passenger cars combined.

According to the data, EV imports significantly outpace gasoline and hybrid vehicle arrivals. This clearly demonstrates the dominance of Chinese manufacturers in the Uzbek market and a growing shift toward electric transport.
