During his trip to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the ‘Diikan Arna’ mahalla in Nukus district and inspected the living conditions created for the population. The mahalla is home to over a thousand families, totaling more than 3,600 people.

The ‘Smart Mahalla’ system introduced here enables prompt processing of citizens’ appeals, accurate demographic records, and digital monitoring of infrastructure, while also fostering entrepreneurship.

Under an investment program, a modern 60-place kindergarten was commissioned at a cost of 4.5 billion soums. Another 1 billion soums from the local budget was allocated for the construction of a football pitch and a workout area.

Beekeeping has been identified as a key direction for raising household incomes. Currently, more than 20 households in the mahalla are engaged in beekeeping. A single farm keeps between 50 and 100 hives, yielding up to 1 tonne of honey annually.

The head of state visited the home of local resident Bakhtiyar Jubayev and observed the honey processing workshop and the production of beehive boxes. The facility sells 2 tonnes of processed honey per season, generating about 200 million soums in annual profit. The workshop produces over 250 beehive boxes per year, bringing in up to another 80 million soums.

By the end of the year, the Beekeepers Association plans to organize beekeeping in another 100 households on a cooperative basis. This will provide a stable source of income for even more families.
