Technical College No. 1 in Nukus has become the first institution in Uzbekistan to offer training under the British international Pearson BTEC program. The launch was presented during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Karakalpakstan. The program operates in over 70 countries and combines theoretical instruction with practical skills. Modern workshops and digital laboratories have been equipped for students.

The project cost 11.9 billion soums, of which 2 billion were allocated by partners. The workshops accommodate 240 students, while the college currently enrolls over 1,200 learners. Another 136 students are mastering modern professions under a spin-off program, with core subjects taught in English.

President Mirziyoyev instructed that the educational process be organized in line with employer demands. This year, 25 graduates who trained in welding have already left to work in Estonia with salaries up to 3,000 euros per month. The college will also train specialists for a new industrial zone worth $40 million.

Earlier, it was reported that during his trip to Karakalpakstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited Nukus Insulation Group, where 150 jobs have been created.
