President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the renovated Turan stadium in Nukus. After the upgrade, its capacity increased from 9,300 to 12,000 spectators, and infrastructure for the VAR system and offside cameras was installed.

The total cost of the project amounted to 118.6 billion soums. Turan serves as the base for the professional football club Aral. It also regularly hosts training for 190 students of the Republican Football Academy. The complex includes two sports halls and two additional stadiums.

For young footballers, a residential building with 196 places, a dining hall with 84 seats, gyms, and rooms for tactical analysis were equipped. At the same time, 100 to 150 athletes can engage in athletics, boxing, and taekwondo here.

The stadium also features media platforms, places for installing offside cameras, and a separate zone for the centralized VAR system. The President reviewed the conditions of the complex and gave instructions for the further development of sports and football in Karakalpakstan.

Earlier, it was reported that the Nukus Insulation Group enterprise for the production of thermal insulation materials from local basalt was launched in Nukus. The project worth $50 million is designed to produce up to 50,000 tons of products per year.
