Uzbekistan is set to create a digital system called Fisherman ID ("Fisherman's Card") that will consolidate essential services for amateur fishing on a single platform. It will enable users to issue and pay for fishing permits, book spots, and receive QR passes.

The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change has already begun accepting commercial proposals from potential developers. According to project requirements, the system must include an open portal and electronic registry of fishing zones, a user account, a system for issuing and paying for fishing permits, as well as a booking and QR pass issuance service.

Additionally, Fisherman ID will feature a marketplace, a mobile application, and integration with payment services such as Payme, Click, and other necessary platforms. The creation of the system is stipulated by a presidential decree on the development of the fishing industry.

Fisherman ID is expected to include a unified electronic registry of amateur fishermen and a discounted annual subscription. Funds from subscriptions are planned to be directed toward cleaning water bodies and stocking natural water objects with fish.

Earlier, it was reported that an Eco-Police inspector died during a raid against poachers on the Syr Darya. According to preliminary data, he fell into the water while attempting to detain individuals illegally fishing with an electric rod.
