Uzbekistan has significantly increased the one-time cash rewards for chess players and their coaches for prize-winning places at major international competitions. This is stipulated by a presidential decree.

For a gold medal at the World Chess Olympiad or Paralympiad among adults, a chess player will now receive $200,000 (previously 2000 BRV), silver — $100,000 (1000 BRV), bronze — $50,000 (500 BRV). Coaches are entitled to payments of $50,000 (previously 1000 BRV), $25,000 (500 BRV), and $12,500 (250 BRV) respectively.

In addition, for the first time, separate payments have been established for the World Chess Olympiad and Paralympiad among youth: $20,000 for gold, $10,000 for silver, and $5,000 for bronze. Coaches will receive $5,000, $2,500, and $1,250 respectively.

For medals at world-level competitions according to FIDE classification, chess players will be paid $15,000, $7,500, and $3,750, and their coaches — $7,000, $3,500, and $1,750. At Asian-level competitions, payments will be $10,000 for gold, $5,000 for silver, and $2,500 for bronze. Coaches are entitled to $5,000, $2,500, and $1,250 respectively.

For obtaining the international sports title of grandmaster, a chess player is entitled to a one-time payment of $5,000. Previously, for obtaining the title, a payment of 100 BRV (about $3,600) was provided.
